Nevada Trucking Association Announces Winners of the 2022 Nevada Truck Driving Championship
RENO, NEVADA – On April 23, 2022, the Nevada Trucking Association held its annual Truck Driving Championship (TDC) at AX Transportation in Las Vegas.
Over 80 drivers competed in this year’s event, with over 113,536,672 combined Safe Driving Miles.
Competitors are tested in three different categories:
- A written exam that tests the drivers’ knowledge of the industry, safety, and security.
- A pre-trip inspection, which tests competitors on their knowledge of the equipment, including maintenance and safety.
- A skills driving test that consists of six challenging obstacles, testing their ability to maneuver the truck and trailer in simulations of every day driving conditions.
Aaron Sharp, of UPS, a Rookie in the competition and son of long time Truck Driving Champion, David Sharp, was awarded this years’ “Grand Champion” and “Rookie of The Year”.
Eight of the TDC competitors will represent Nevada at the National Truck Driving Championship in Indianapolis, IN on August 16-20, 2022. Team Nevada will compete against 430 other professional drivers vying for selection as the nation’s top professional truck drivers.
